Together with Grinn, a hardware and IoT company from Poland, we utilized ARIMA models to analyze time series data on energy consumption from HVAC systems in IKEA's European warehouses. We leveraged the HEX data platform to consolidate data, training, and graphs in one place, fetching data from a Snowflake data lake. The goal was to achieve simple and reliable forecasts of energy consumption, enabling IKEA to better manage staffing and anticipate energy usage, particularly during busy periods. The solution helped identify anomalies, plan operational schedules, and avoid downtime without compromising customer and employee comfort. The outcome was a solution that ensures predictable costs across IKEA's European stores.
